Akkodis is looking for a Controls Programmer which is a 24-Months Contract-to-Hire with a client located in Niskayuna, NY. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in control electronics for electric machines and real-time control implementation. This assignment has the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance and teamwork.
Pay Range: $60-$80/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, program, test, and commission power converter controls for electric machines (10 kW to 2 MW).
- Conduct software-intensive control system development and testing.
- Perform real-time control implementation using C/C++.
- Model and simulate power converters using PLECs.
- Study system and customer requirements to determine specifications for electrical machines and associated components.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: BSEE or MSEE.
- 5+ years in power converter control electronics focusing on electric machine controls.
- Strong expertise in real-time control and programming (C/C++) and PLECs modeling and simulation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical machines (electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical aspects).
- Experience in automotive hybrid electric or aerospace systems.
